At Calon Cardio, innovation is at the core of everything we do. Recently, we had the privilege of collaborating with Physics X, a renowned team of experts, to further refine our flagship device, the MiniVAD™.
The focus of this partnership was to rigorously evaluate, validate and optimise our device’s performance within clearly defined operational parameters. During a presentation at the recent CODEX conference, Robin Tuluie of Physics X shared key insights from this collaboration, underscoring the importance of combining engineering expertise with data-driven analysis.
As Robin explained, the combined use of generative geometry generation, a trained deep learning model, and optimisation allowed for the creation and analysis of thousands of designs. These AI-conceived designs, in many cases, exist outside the realm of human conception. The best of these created geometries were then selected and validated through traditional CFD simulations. This process accelerates innovation, delivering devices that meet the highest standards of performance and reliability.
The results of the project were both illuminating and affirming. Physics X's comprehensive analysis revealed that our device design already operates at a highly optimised level, performing excellently within its targeted constraints. This work not only validated our design choices but also identified opportunities for further refinement under different design constraints.
